I will be appearing at the Candidate Forum for Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Wednesday, Apr 14 2021 from 04:00 pm to 06:00 pm at the Texas Star Golf Course & Conference Centre in Euless. I would love the chance to meet with you and would love to have all the support I can. Registration is required. See you there!
I am honored to receive the personal endorsement of Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn. As a true community leader and one of the best Sheriffs in the country, I could get no better endorsement. His personal endorsement statement is on the Endorsements page.
Because of his consistent leadership and long service to the community, Dave has won the respect not just of the citizens of Bedford, but also many notable figures and public officials here in Bedford and county-wide. There is now an Endorsements page to document just some of those who support Dave and his efforts to be elected to City Council.
During the extended freeze in the middle of February many citizens were dismayed to find that they were locked out of their water cutoff valve, unless they had a cutoff of their own located/installed. Pipes were bursting and many had no easy access to turn off the water. How did this happen? In April of 2017 when the digital water meters were being installed city-wide, a proposal was made to install locking lids at the same time. It was argued that some people had broken or damaged the water meter while accessing the cutoff and that the city needed to lock the boxes to protect their investment. I argued against these locks as I felt that this was insulting to the citizens of Bedford and created a potential risk of great financial loss due to water damage while the citizen had to wait for the city to come unlock the box and shut off the water. I was overruled by the majority of the council at the time but I stand by my statement that Bedford citizens are adults and can manage the risk of turning off a valve.
I have updated the website to reflect more current info about me and about why I am running. The donate page is working and you can see a flyer on the Volunteer page. More updates soon!
